A dense, rounded, multi-stemmed, large shrub that can be trained as a small tree, valued for its lustrous, dark green foliage and abundance of ornamental red berries. The narrow leaves have a slight twist and spineless margins. Low maintenance and very tolerant of heat and drought. Works well as a screen, border, accent, or foundation plant. Evergreen.
